Bring back the 95% of visitors who leave without buying
Retargeting on Meta and Google puts your offer back in front of people who already looked, clicked, or almost bought - usually at the lowest cost per conversion of any channel you run.
Most of your ad spend goes to people who never come back
Someone visits your site, browses three products or reads your pricing page, and leaves. Under a normal cold campaign, that visit is gone - you paid for the click and got nothing back. Multiply that by hundreds of visitors a month and it adds up to a lot of wasted spend on people who were actually interested.
Meanwhile the same ad keeps chasing brand-new, cold audiences who have never heard of you, which is always the most expensive way to get a conversion. The warmest, cheapest audience you have - people who already visited - is sitting there unused.
And when businesses do try to "retarget," it is often one generic ad shown to everyone forever, including people who already bought. That just burns budget and annoys existing customers.
A sequence, not a single ad
Each stage of a visitor's behaviour gets its own audience, message, and budget.
Segment by behaviour
- Page-viewers, cart-abandoners, form-starters and past customers split into separate audiences
- Built from Meta Pixel, Google Ads tag and site events
Sequence the creative
- Day 1-3: reminder of what they viewed
- Day 4-10: objection-handling or offer
- Day 10+: final push or discount, then drop out
Cap frequency, set exclusions
- Frequency capped so the same person is not hit 20 times a week
- Recent buyers automatically excluded from purchase-stage ads
Run across Meta and Google Display
- Same segments retargeted on both networks for coverage
- Budget shifted weekly toward whichever platform is converting cheaper
What you get every month
- Custom audience segmentation by page, product, cart status and past-purchase behaviour
- Meta Pixel and Google Ads tag setup or audit on your site
- Multi-stage creative sequencing across Meta feed, Stories and Google Display Network
- Frequency capping so the same visitor is not shown the ad excessively
- Exclusion lists to stop converted customers seeing purchase-stage ads
- Weekly budget reallocation between Meta and Google based on cost per conversion
- Monthly performance summary showing spend, cost per conversion and audience breakdown
Who retargeting works best for
Online stores
- Cart-abandonment and product-viewer traffic that never checked out
- Need a nudge sequence rather than a repeat of the same ad
Property and real estate agents
- Long decision cycles - buyers browse listings for weeks before enquiring
- Need to stay visible without repeating the same listing ad
Clinics, coaches, service businesses
- Visitors who read the services page or started booking but did not finish
- WhatsApp-first customers who need a reminder before they message

Common questions
It depends on volume. Retargeting needs a minimum pool of past visitors to build audiences large enough for Meta and Google to optimise against - usually a few hundred visitors a month at least. If your traffic is very low, we will say so upfront and focus first on driving traffic, then add retargeting once there is a pool to work with.
Having the pixel installed is step one, not the whole job. Most accounts we audit have the pixel firing but no segmentation, no sequencing, and no exclusion lists - so everyone sees the same ad forever, including people who already bought. The setup matters less than what you do with the data after.
That is exactly what frequency capping and exclusion lists are for. Without them, yes, retargeting gets annoying fast. With them, a visitor sees a capped number of ads per week, the message changes as time passes, and buyers get excluded from the sequence once they convert.
Retargeting audiences build within the first 1-2 weeks as new visitors accumulate, and early results usually show within 2-4 weeks since you are working with warmer traffic than a cold campaign. Full optimisation - once we have enough conversion data to reallocate budget between segments - typically takes 6-8 weeks.
